According to The Athletic, Newcastle United are one of three Premier League sides showing interest in Ajax star Mohammed Kudus.
This comes from David Ornstein’s Monday morning piece on the transfer front, which reveals that Newcastle, Arsenal and Man Utd are ‘tracking’ the 22-year-old.
It’s believed he’s rejected a one-year extension to stay with the Eredivisie giants and intends to leave this summer after an impressive season in the Netherlands.
He’s bagged 18 goals and six assists in 41 appearances – six of those goal involvements came in his six Champions League appearances – and is a versatile player who can operate as a No 8, No 10, winger of striker.
The Athletic report that £40m should be enough to prise the Ghanaian international away from the Johan Cruyff Arena this summer, with Ajax preferring to sell and cash in while his value remains high.
Kudus scored twice at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and could tick several boxes for Eddie Howe. Another one to watch heading into the summer transfer window?
