5 pre-season friendlies now confirmed by Newcastle – Full details and 10 key dates for diary

Newcastle United have announced that Eddie Howe’s Mags will take on Gateshead at the International Stadium in our opening pre-season friendly of the summer.

The game will take place on Saturday 15th July at 12.30pm, seeing us take on the National League side in our first of FIVE friendlies currently confirmed.

Following our trip to the Heed – who are managed by former Mag Mike Williamson and have a host of ex-Academy players in their ranks – we take on Rangers at Ibrox on the 18th July, followed by a trio of Summer Series games in the USA against Aston Villa (23rd July), Chelsea (26th July) and Brighton (28th July).

Here’s some key dates for the diary, featuring all five friendlies, when the Premier League fixtures will be announced and much more:

Wednesday 14 June – The summer transfer window officially opens

Thursday 15 June – The 2023/24 Premier League fixtures announced at 9am

Saturday 15 July – Gateshead vs Newcastle (12.30pm) – International Stadium

Tuesday 18 July – Rangers v Newcastle (7.45pm) – Pre-season friendly at Ibrox

Sunday 23 July – Newcastle v Aston Villa (7pm local time) Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia

Wednesday 26 July – Newcastle v Chelsea (8:15pm local time) Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta

Friday 28 July – Newcastle v Brighton (7:30pm – Local time) Red Bull Arena, New Jersey

Friday 11 August – The 2023/24 Premier League season kicks off this weekend

Thursday 31 August – Champions League group stage draw is made

Friday 1 September – The summer transfer window closes at 11pm
