Joelinton has capped off a truly incredible 18 months with a debut goal for Brazil on Saturday night.
After being handed his first call-up to the national side last month, the big man was handed his first start in their friendly clash with Guinea.
He started in midfield alongside Casemiro and Lucas Paqueta and handed his country a 1-0 lead 27 minutes in, tapping in at the back post before reeling away in celebration.
Watch the brilliant moment via the two videos below, capturing his debut strike and the wholesome celebrations that followed at the RCDE Stadium in Spain:
I’ve been watching the game and he’s not looked out of place. He’s snapped into tackles, shown his power and strong running at both ends of the field, has looked after the ball well and given his side that physical presence down the right-hand side of their midfield three.
What a turnaround. From a ‘£40m flop’ who looked void of all confidence under Steve Bruce, to scoring on his Brazil debut just a few weeks after inspiring Eddie Howe’s Mags to a Champions League finish.
An incredible moment for the big man and a well deserved reward for all of his hard work, belief and perseverance.
Well done Joe
