According to reports on Sunday morning, Sky Sports look set to appoint Peter Drury as their new commentator ahead of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
As revealed by The Mail’s Mike Keegan, Drury will become the new voice of the Premier League after Martin Tyler’s 33-year spell with Sky Sports was ended this week.
Tyler did not have his contract renewed by the broadcasting giant and will be replaced by Drury; who continues to cover Premier League games for US broadcaster NBC Sports.
This is likely to prove a popular move, as the 55-year-old has been the voice of many iconic moments over the years across European, international and domestic football.
Here’s a clip of some of Drury’s best work, featuring his stunning commentary following Roma’s incredible comeback win over Barcelona in the 2018 UEFA Champions League:
A wise move from Sky Sports and another reason to be excited ahead of the new 2023/24 season!
