A James Maddison update has emerged from Sky Sports‘ Rob Dorsett; their main man in the Midlands covering all things Leicester City (you can watch a clip below of his update this morning).
His ‘gut feeling’ is that the 26-year-old will be a Newcastle United player by the end of the summer window, as he believes Spurs won’t pay his asking price or meet his wage demands.
Dorsett insists that Leicester currently want around £60m for the England international, but accepts that a deal in the region of £50m is more realistic given he has just 12 months left on his current contract.
Over the past 24 hours, we’ve seen reports suggest that Maddison prefers a move to North London, but none of that matters if Spurs can’t agree a deal with the Foxes; who seem determined to recoup a big fee for their star man.
We clearly have long-term interest and had two bids rejected last summer, with Champions League football also on offer at Newcastle; something Spurs can’t offer after finishing 8th left them out of Europe entirely.
You can watch Dorsett’s thoughts on the ongoing transfer saga below:

Hope we don’t get him ..dodgy knee and expensive …tonalli, barella thuram and the Hungary captain better options
