According to The Chronicle, Newcastle retain an interest in Fulham’s Antonee Robinson as our search for a new left-back continues.
The report states that we have been weighing up a move for the USA international since January, aware of the fact his Fulham contract is due to expire in 12 months time.
Because of this, the Cottagers could be forced to accept a cut-price fee if he fails to sign a new contract under Marco Silva. However, The Chronicle report that we could face competition from Inter Milan, AC Milan and Manchester City for the 25-year-old.
On the subject of left-backs, the same report reveals that Rogerio looks set to be offered our way, with Sassuolo prepared to sell for £15m.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to St James’ Park on several occasions over the past few seasons and it’s thought his representatives are likely to make contact following our previous interest.
Back to Robinson, he’s an impressive athlete who could bring pace and power to our left-hand side, but he lacks quality on the ball for me and has also been guilty of switching off at the back post on more than one occasion over the 2022/23 season, despite being a solid one vs one defender.
