Allan Saint-Maximin has sent a message to his followers on social media following links with a move away from Tyneside, stating: ‘People can keep talking when they know nothing. I just keep working.’
The Telegraph released a piece on Monday claiming he could be sold to make room for Harvey Barnes, with other outlets reporting on growing interest from the Saudi Pro League and a potential move to Italy.
Alongside his latest message, the Frenchman – who return to pre-season training on Sunday – has also shared a video of him scoring a lovely goal at our Benton base, seeing him curl a long-range shot into the far corner from the left-hand side.
Here’s the goal clip posted on his Instagram story on Tuesday afternoon, along with his latest cryptic message in response to all the rumours:
It’s hard to say exactly what he’s responding to here, but it feels like a message after ongoing links with a potential move away.
Based on his recent activity on social media and big smiles on his return to Tyneside over the weekend, he hardly looks like a man on the lookout for a new club!
Good lad Maxi – great attitude pal 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Nothing to say maxi can’t add goals this year like miggy did last year. Younger and way more talented (no disrespect to miggy), and if he does add goals, that’s the best winger in the league.

Due to CL we need depth in the squad as high press saps energy. Hopefully ASM is OK with being a possible bench warmer either in CL or PL. He did seem OK coming off the bench last season.
