Newcastle set to sign three England youth talents after Ashworth loses transfer battle – Report

The Mail’s Craig Hope has delivered some good and bad news on the Toon transfer front, with the club’s Academy set to lose one promising youngster and sign three more.

He reports that teenage midfielder Ollie Harrison has rejected a contract offer on Tyneside to join Premier League rivals Chelsea. Dan Ashworth ‘fought hard’ to keep the U18 star, but he’s due to join the Blues after Newcastle refused to break their wage structure.

As for incomings, three England youth internationals are expected to sign in Leo Shahar, Trevan Sanusi and Divine Mukasa.

Hope reports that we’ve agreed a deal for Shahar – a 16-year-old Wolves right-back – while moves for Birmingham’s Sanusi and former West Ham midfielder Mukasa are also ‘in the offing.’

Earlier this month, we released an NUFCBlog exclusive on Sanusi and Mukasa, confirming that the teenage duo were due to join our Academy after agreeing moves to the North East.
