TEAM NEWS: Barnes, Anderson, Bruno & Ashby all start vs Brighton – Official XI

Newcastle United have released the team for our third and final Summer Series game against Brighton in New Jersey.

Here’s the starting XI and subs to face the Seagulls at 12:30am:

STARTING XI: (4-3-3) Pope – Ashby, Lascelles, Dummett, Targett – Guimaraes, Anderson, Ritchie – Barnes, Wilson, J. Murphy

SUBS: Dubravka, Savage, J. Miley, Turner-Cooke, A. Murphy, Parkinson, L. Miley

Eddie Howe has named a completely different starting XI to Wednesday’s game, with Nick Pope making his first start since our home game against Leicester in May, while Harvey Barnes makes his starting debut.

The young star Lewis Miley drops to the bench but is the only player to have started against Chelsea who retains his place in the squad.

Another who has impressed in the US, Elliot Anderson, returns to the midfield alongside Bruno and Matt Ritchie who will support Wilson, Murphy and Barnes in the attack.

It was always clear that those who did not take part in Wednesday’s fixture would feature against Brighton as Howe looks to give everyone an opportunity to impress.
