Gary Neville has predicted Arsenal to win the league, Chelsea to finish just outside the top four and Newcastle to end the 2023/24 Premier League season in seventh
Speaking for Sky Sports on The Overlap, he named this as his projected top eight heading into the new campaign:
- Arsenal
- Man City
- Man Utd
- Liverpool
- Chelsea
- Aston Villa
- Newcastle
- Tottenham
The former Red Devils right-back believes that Champions League football will take its toll on Eddie Howe’s Mags this season, backing us to drop three places from 4th to 7th.
However, he’s also predicted Villa to improve upon last years campaign, despite them having to compete in the Conference League; where they’ll likely go deep in the competition given the poorer opposition and Emery’s superb record in Europe. That’ll mean more games, but Neville’s still backing them to finish above the Toon.
Here’s what he had to say when speaking alongside Jamie Carragher:
“Just because of the three thing and never winning a fourth, I am going to go Arsenal to win the league, City second.
“I think Arsenal can beat them this year. I think Arsenal, Man City, Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Villa, Newcastle and Tottenham.
“I just think Newcastle Champions League and Tottenham…I’m not quite sure what is going on there.”
Last year Neville predicted spurs would finish ahead of Arsenal
that Liverpool would be second and Gabriel Jesus would be top scorer…,🤡🏆
