Newcastle United received some brilliant news on Friday night as Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton were named in the latest Brazil squad, while Eddie Howe won the LMA Performance of the Week award.
Joelinton was unlucky not to be named in the World cup squad back in November last year, but his consistent performances have helped him to break through into the national side where he scored on his debut in June.
His midfield partner Bruno is now also becoming ever-present in this team and will join his best man in the squad for September’s games against Bolivia (9th September) and Peru (13th September).
Elsewhere, Howe has been awarded the LMA Performance of the Week after our 5-1 thrashing of Aston Villa last Saturday which put us top of the Premier League after the opening round of fixtures.
While a great achievement, the head coach will no doubt be fully focused on Saturday’s game against champions Man City which, if we were to come away with any kind of victory, would surely top last weekend’s outcome.
