TEAM NEWS: Official Newcastle team to face Man City

The teams are in ahead of Newcastle’s trip to the Etihad tonight, where Eddie Howe’s Mags take on Pep Guardiola’s treble-winning Man City.

Howe has named an unchanged lineup to the one that thrashed Aston Villa 5-1 on the opening weekend, with Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon and Miguel Almiron retaining their place in the front line.

Here’s the starting 11 and substitutes named for the 8pm kick-off on TNT Sports:

STARTING XI: Pope – Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn – Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton – Almiron, Isak, Gordon

SUBS: Dubravka, Lascelles, Wilson, Ritchie, Targett, Barnes, Livramento, Anderson, Longstaff

As expected, Kevin De Bruyne and John Stones miss out for Man City; who were in Super Cup action just a few days ago out in Athens.

Bernardo Silva is also missing from the team with a suspected injury, with Kovacic and Grealish coming into the midfield.
