After paying Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United a host of big compliments ahead of our trip to the Etihad, Pep Guardiola was full of praise after the match on Saturday night.

This was Pep’s response when discussing the game in front of the press moments after Man City’s 1-0 win, with the final line speaking volumes about Howe and his team.
Pep speaks like a man who has massive respect for Newcastle and Howe’s coaching ability, stressing “they will destroy us” if they didn’t arrive with the right approach. In the end, they pressed superbly, gave us no time on the ball, forced errors and limited us to only one shot on target.
