Newcastle in talks with Premier League new boys as another Mag nears exit – Report

According to The Mail’s Craig Hope, Luton are ‘exploring a move’ for Newcastle midfielder Isaac Hayden who has recently been training with the Under-21s.

The 28-year-old is not in Eddie Howe’s plans and is one of a handful of players who the club are looking to offload, following on from Ryan Fraser’s loan move to Southampton yesterday.

Hayden himself still has another three years on his current deal, so it would be great to get his wages off the books this summer and free up some space for future incomings.

The former Arsenal man spent last season on loan at Norwich in the Championship where he made just 12 appearances as he struggled with injuries.

It could be an astute signing for the Hatters who are in need of Premier League experience and, should they go down, Hayden would certainly be very effective in the second division when fit.
