Bruno Guimaraes release clause goes public with new deal close after Liverpool and PSG bids

According to Football Transfers, Newcastle received bids from PSG and Liverpool for Bruno Guimaraes this summer but rejected both clubs as discussions over a new contract progressed.

Liverpool were believed to have bid £100m for the 25-year-old, while PSG had submitted and even larger offer which was also turned down.

It had been reported recently that there was a big breakthrough in talks between Newcastle and the Brazilian as we look to improve his current deal which expires in 2026.

This new contract is expected to contain a release clause in the region of £100m-£150m, with the club expecting to receive more interest next year.

Though we are very keen on keeping him at St James’ park, a sale upwards of £100m would be huge in helping us accelerate our long-term project and improve substantially in a number of positions.

Hopefully we can continue to offer the South American Champions League football in years to come, otherwise future offers from some of Europe’s elite could be tough to resist for Bruno.

  1. Is it just me but I think Bruno is vastly overrated I watch him and he does very little tackling hard any decent passes can’t take a game by the scruff of the neck and very few attempts on goal I’d take the money for him
