Murphy, Isak, Botman and Tonali all start vs AC Milan – Official Champions League team news

The team sheets are in at the San Siro, where Newcastle United take on AC Milan in our opening Group F fixture in the UEFA Champions League.

Here’s the side Eddie Howe has gone with ahead of tonight’s 5.45pm kick-off:

(4-3-3): Pope – Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn – Longstaff, Bruno, Tonali – Murphy, Isak, Gordon.

SUBS: Karius, Harris, Dummett, Lascelles, Wilson, Targett, Barnes, Hall, Livramento, Almiron, Anderson, Miley

The big surprise sees Jacob Murphy START, replacing Harvey Barnes and coming into the side ahead of Miguel Almiron; who many expected to return after his rest on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Sandro Tonali comes back into the midfield in Elliot Anderson’s place, with Alexander Isak leading the line ahead of Callum Wilson, who takes his place on the bench.

Here’s the side AC Milan have gone with, featuring Rafa Leao, Theo Hernandez and three former Chelsea players in Olivier Giroud, Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
