Official injury update on Botman, Wilson & Joelinton as Howe speaks after Burnley win

Eddie Howe has issued a triple injury update on Sven Botman, Callum Wilson and Joelinton following today’s 2-0 win over Burnley.

Starting with Botman, it’s emerged that his knee injury is ‘serious enough’ to keep him out until the international break, meaning he’ll miss upcoming games against PSG and West Ham.

Wilson, who also missed today’s game, has a ‘minor hamstring problem’, with Howe hopeful but unsure if he’ll feature before next month’s break.

As for Joelinton, he was forced off with a hamstring injury just minutes after coming on in the second half. Howe says it ‘doesn’t look serious’, but is concerned that it was enough for the Brazilian to come off. Here’s what he’s had to say on all of the above:

Howe on Botman “Sven has knee problem that’s serious enough to keep him out I think until the international break. We hope that after that he’ll be close to being fit.”

Howe on Wilson “Callum Wilson has a minor hamstring problem and whether we see him about before the international break, I don’t know. I hope we do but there’s no guarantee.”

Howe on Joelinton’s injury – “It looks like a hamstring problem. It doesn’t look serious but was enough for Joe, who never complains of anything, to go down and come off.”

A huge concern ahead of Wednesday’s clash with PSG, especially with Harvey Barnes (toe) and Joe Willock (hamstring) out, with Anthony Gordon also ruled out of the West Ham game due to picking up his fifth yellow card of the season today.
