Eddie Howe responds to England interest as FA shortlist Newcastle boss – The Telegraph

According to The Telegraph, Eddie Howe is ‘not interested’ in taking the England job after the FA shortlisted the Newcastle boss as Gareth Southgate’s potential replacement.

With Howe’s intense, attractive and successful style of football, many have tipped him to lead the Three Lions into the next World Cup as Southgate looks to leave after the Euros.

However, it’s said that the former Bournemouth man will ‘rule himself out of the running’ as he wants to focus on his current job at Newcastle and hopes to stay for ‘several years.’

It’s difficult to think of a reason why the 45-year-old would want to move into international football at this stage of his career, especially given the support he has at Newcastle.

Howe thrives on regular training and the day-to-day nature of Premier League management, not to mention the fact he’s just getting started on this exciting new project at St James’ Park, so it seems we have very little to worry about.
