In the past few years, Newcastle United have taken huge strides forward following the takeover by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund.
The team has returned to the grandest stage of the UEFA Champions League, which can be largely attributed to the wide range of high-quality incomings.
Newcastle have a team that is capable of going head-to-head with Europe’s strongest sides. Eddie Howe has constructed a talented squad that will provide the Toon with a strong chance of future success.
But which players on the Newcastle books could also be in with a chance of international glory in the near future?
The UEFA European Championships will take place in Germany next year, and several Newcastle players will line out for the standout nations – most notably England.
Kieran Trippier
Kieran Trippier has been a regular throughout Gareth Southgate’s England tenure. Whether at right back or left back, the former Atletico Madrid man will likely be present in the Three Lions setup next summer.
England are one of the leading favourites for the tournament next summer and Trippier could present the strongest chance of a European champion returning to St. James’ Park. In the Euro 2024 winner odds, they are offered at 4/1 to win their first major trophy since 1966.

Trippier’s creativity could prove to be decisive in Germany. He provides exceptional deliveries from either side of the defence and is also a set-piece specialist.
The Englishman not only has a great chance of becoming a European champion, but he will also likely play a starring role in any potential success.
Nick Pope
Nick Pope is of course the undisputed number one under Howe, however, he is not offered such assurances in the national team setup.
Pope is one of several goalkeepers who have struggled to displace Jordan Pickford from between the England sticks. While the Newcastle man is an exceptional shot-stopper, his ball-playing ability is lacking compared to the Everton keeper.
Pope will likely not experience much playing time in Germany, but he will surely be part of the squad that heads to the European Championships.
Callum Wilson
Callum Wilson is another Newcastle star who should spend a significant amount of time on the England bench in Germany. However, he could provide a stunning asset due to his ability to offer immediate impact from the bench.
Wilson will surely be part of the squad as he offers a pacey in-behind threat that the England national pool otherwise lacks from its centre forwards.

Wilson’s biggest threat to a possible European medal could be his fitness. He has become prone to persistent injury issues over the years. If he is available he will surely be picked, and the Three Lions of course have a great chance of going all of the way.
This English trio of Newcastle stars will all likely head to the European mainland next summer in aid of their nation’s major title hopes. The Toon’s setup could well be populated with several European champions come the beginning of next season.
