According to a recent report from ESPN Brazil, PSG have identified Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes as a priority target in 2024.
Marcelo Bechler – a journalist from TNT Sports Brazil – then added that Bruno has a £100m release clause in his new contract, claiming it can be paid in three instalments.
However, a new report from Sports Zone details Newcastle’s response to PSG’s interest, claiming we have zero intention of negotiating a mid-season deal for the midfielder; and rightly so. It’s also suggested that his heft release clause will only become active from the summer onwards.
ESPN add that tensions between PSG’s Qatari-backed owners and Newcastle’s Saudi regime could make a deal difficult to complete, while Eddie Howe has no intention of allowing his star man to leave.
When asked about PSG’s reported interest prior to Saturday’s Tyne-Wear derby, Howe said: “When you are talking about your best players you want to keep them at the football club as long as possible so that is certainly our aim.”
Luis Enrique would like PSG to sign Bruno Guimarães (26) in this transfer window. However, Newcastle appear to be unwilling to negotiate. (SZ)https://t.co/HXNqCm87li

Didn’t Bruno’s agent come out and say when he first signed this extension there was no release clause? legit asking as i’m sure he did but could be wrong.
