Newcastle set for another injury boost as Mag shares positive update on Instagram

It looks like Elliot Anderson is edging ever closer to a return to action after four months out with a back injury.

In a post on his Instagram story this morning, the midfielder shared a picture of him back on the training field along with the caption ‘final few steps 💪🏻’

With Anthony Gordon’s ankle injury not serious, Harvey Barnes fit again after several months out and Callum Wilson making his return from a calf issue in last weekend’s 4-4 draw with Luton, it feels like we’re slowly getting players back.

Anderson wasn’t pictured in the training images released on Wednesday afternoon, but it seems he’s on track to make his comeback soon after a long-term issue with a stress fracture in his back.

The 21-year-old hasn’t appeared since our 4-0 win over Crystal Palace back in October and started our four Premier League games prior to that, playing key roles in wins over Brentford, Burnley and Sheffield United.

With Joe Willock also stepping up his recovery from injury, it’ll be a huge boost to our midfield to have both back to full fitness soon, especially with Joelinton injured, Tonali suspended and Bruno one yellow card away from a two-game ban.

Here’s what Anderson posted on his Instagram story earlier today:
