Eddie Howe has been speaking to the press in the last few moments, issuing an update on the injury situation ahead of Saturday night’s trip to Nottingham Forest.
Starting with Anthony Gordon, he’s revealed that the winger has not trained and will miss out tomorrow. However, his ankle injury is “not serious”, meaning he’ll be back “sooner rather than later.”
Alexander Isak will also miss out once again with a groin problem, although Howe has “hope” he’ll be back soon. Joe Willock is yet to resume full training, but he’s in the final stages of rehab and is closing in on a comeback, along with Elliot Anderson.
Howe then confirmed Callum Wilson has trained well all week and is “getting his sharpness back” ahead of tomorrow’s game, hinting he could start after his 45-minute cameo last weekend.
Howe on Gordon – “He hasn’t trained this week. But we don’t think the injury is serious. We’re hopeful he’ll be back sooner rather than later.”
Howe on Wilson – “He’s (Wilson) trained well this week, we’ve been really pleased with him. I thought he did well with his 45-minute cameo last week after being thrust back into action. He looks good and is getting his sharpness back.”
