Huge win, worrying signs and why we MUST improve vs Wolves – New podcast!

The NUFC Blogcast is back for another week, as I look back at Tuesday night’s chaotic FA Cup clash with Blackburn and preview our Premier League meeting with Wolves this weekend (Listen here or press play the play button below).

It was an odd feeling after the game last night. As I discuss in the episode above, it was a massive victory and could be a huge turning point that keeps our season alive. However, there’s no getting away from the fact it was another poor performance.

I talk about losing our identity, our slow build-up play, mistakes at both ends of the pitch and some concerning individual performances, with Fabian Schar, Harvey Barnes and Sean Longstaff all struggling badly at Ewood Park.

On the plus side, there’s plenty of praise for Miguel Almiron, an ice-cool Elliot Anderson and man of the match Martin Dubravka, who thankfully recovered from illness after missing out at Arsenal.

I then preview Saturday’s game at St James’ Park, discussing the Wolves threats we must contain, our European hopes, my predicted line-up and the importance of improving against an in-form side who’ve beaten Spurs and Chelsea in their last two away games. Give it a listen!
