According to reports this morning, Arsenal are lining up a player-plus cash offer for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
This comes via FootballTransfers, who’ve released an exclusive claiming that the North London club have switched their attention back to Bruno after growing frustrated in their pursuit of Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.
It’s been previously reported that the Gunners can’t afford to pay the Brazilian’s £100m release clause, so a creative part-exchange offer is what they’re lining up – not that it’s likely to appeal to Newcastle United!
The report highlights that Oleksandr Zinchenko, Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, and Thomas Partey are all available and that ‘one or two’ of those names are likely to be on offer to Newcastle.
Eddie Howe may be an admirer of Smith Rowe and we’ve been linked with Zinchenko and Nketiah in the past, but there’s not a chance we’ll accept a lower price and a host of unwanted Arsenal players in exchange for one of the best midfielders in the Premier League!

Ramsdale is valued at £50 million, and Newcastle offered a laughable £30 million. So what goes around comes around. Maybe a laughable swap deal can happen. Ramsdale plus £20 million sounds fair and about the right price for the aging Bruno.

Straight Swap deal. (Tierney £25 milion) and (Ramsdale £50 million) for the 26 year “old” Bruno. He could become a super sub from the bench to replace Rice when he gets tired in the last 20 minutes or swap him with Jorginho to cover the cup games. Either way a quality squad player for Arsenal and worth the £70 to £75 million asking price. But will Arsenal be willing to meet that price for a 26 year old, it’s hard to tell.
