Agent of Malick Thiaw reacts to Newcastle reports as Sky reveal truth on AC Milan star

Malick Thiaw’s agent has played down claims that his client is close to sealing a move to St James’ Park, despite serious interest from Newcastle United.

Some outlets reported this morning that the AC Milan centre-back looked all set to sign, but it seems those suggestions are premature and “incorrect”, according to agent Gordon Stipic.

Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger insists claims he is set to join are ‘NOT true’, but reveal that Newcastle are ‘very interested’ in the 22-year-old after presenting their project to the player. However, no agreement has been reached with AC Milan and Thiaw is yet to make a decision on his future, as he’s been happy and settled at the San Siro.

Reacting to reports claiming a deal is close, Stipic said “The current reporting about my client Malick Thiaw in connection with a possible transfer to Newcastle United is false and incorrect. Therefore, I will not comment on any further rumours.”
