Newcastle’s monster, the big cry baby, Guehi and winning ugly again – New podcast!

The NUFC Blogcast is back for the first of two episodes this week, as me and Ed look back at Saturday’s 1-0 win over Southampton and discuss the latest on Marc Guehi (Listen here or press play below)

We start by sharing our immediate thoughts on the game itself, the debate around Fabian Schar’s red card and why it felt like Eddie Howe’s no-nonsense Mags were back to grind out a tough but precious 1-0 win with 10 men.
I run through some of my positives and negatives from the match, featuring our defensive record, our midfield monster Joelinton, Nick Pope and the strength of our bench, sharing some slight concerns over Lewis Hall and our poor start prior to the red card.
Me and Ed also pick out what you might’ve missed – a new feature for our post-match pods – before discussing the Guehi saga, this week’s poll of the week and your Twitter questions. Give it a listen!

  1. Great listen as always. The way Newcastle managed to grind out a win despite everything going against them really highlights how structure and communication matter under pressure – whether it’s on the pitch or in everyday life. I actually work in education and recently came across what is colegia a platform that helps schools, students, and parents stay connected and organized. Just like a well-run team, having everyone on the same page makes all the difference.

  2. Watching the way Newcastle battled through that game reminds me of how students push through tough academic seasons it’s not always pretty, but it’s all about results and consistency. Just like footballers need focus and resilience, students need proper resources and support systems to succeed. For anyone navigating the demands of college life, Student Portal has been an incredibly useful platform.

  3. Totally agree sometimes you’ve just got to win ugly and move on. Guehi looked more like he was auditioning for drama school than defending! 😄 Speaking of getting things done effectively, I was helping my cousin find a fast way to access their university login came across this site https://vportal.me/ pretty useful if you’re trying to avoid the usual login mess.

  4. Honestly, love how we’re embracing the ugly side to grind out results it’s not always about flair, sometimes it’s about grit. As for Guehi, if he can’t handle the heat, maybe he needs a breather On a lighter note, all this talk about physicality and grit reminds me of southern-style BBQ vibes bold, messy, but full of character. Speaking of which, menu for cookout with prices I found this guide that breaks it down pretty well for anyone craving that classic flavor post match.
