The January transfer window is now officially open and like every other Premier League club Newcastle United will be hoping that we can bring in a couple of additions to keep the momentum building on the pitch.
Our form has massively picked up as of late with five wins on the bounce and a semi-final on the horizon, but that is no excuse to take our eye off the ball and instead should be looking to strike while the iron is hot.
Despite Jacob Murphy’s improved performances, a new right winger is firmly at the top of the list of priorities having failed to sign a first-team player in that position since Miguel Almiron in 2019.
Newcastle watching exciting Celtic attacker
Newcastle are one of several Premier League clubs who are keeping a close eye on £30m-rated Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn, according to an exclusive from TBR.
Arriving from Rapid Wien almost a year ago for around £3m, Kuhn has proven to be a really good purchase for the Scottish club with 14 goals and 11 assists in 25 appearances across all competitions this season.
Although the league often gets criticised over the poor quality of football, the German has also been performing strongly in the Champions League where he netted a brace against RB Leipzig.
Kuhn has been so impressive that he’s even caught the attention of Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann who is considering calling the 25-year-old up to the first team.
Kuhn’s versatility could be key for Newcastle
As it stands, Newcastle sit in fifth place in the league table and would qualify for Europe once again if the season was to end today, and hopefully this time we will have learned from our mistakes.
Playing twice a week for a big portion of the campaign takes its toll on the players and having someone as versatile as Kuhn, who can play anywhere across the front line, can be so important.
It’s going to be a tough ask for Newcastle who will have to fight off the likes of Tottenham and Aston Villa as well as potentially paying over the odds due to his contract lasting until 2029, but time will tell how serious our interest is.

How are we going get better if we keep selling our stand out players,we need to keep hold of our best players look big game today they be up for this they want to beat us put them to the sword and go 17 clear, set about them and close out the game by half time do it Celtic be men and win.

Celtic will sell any player if they get a big offer” the lad Khun has played very well this season if he keeps playing this way till the end of the season and offers come in over 20 million plus he will be sold.

His name is Kuhn not Khun.
And yeah celtic would POSSIBLY sell once this season is finished.. but you’ll be paying over 20m. Matt oriley and kieran Tierney were sold for 25+ and neither of them score goals/assists/beat men like Kuhn.
Gone are the days of the Scottish league being poached of its talent for pennies.
