Newcastle launch ‘last-ditch’ loan bid for Fenerbahce star – Report

Deadline day is entering the final few hours and it looks like there’ll be a couple of outs and one in at Newcastle United at the very minimum before the 7pm deadline.

Both Alexander Isak and Will Osula look set to depart, the latter expected to join Frankfurt in a shock £30m move, while Yoane Wissa has just passed his medical ahead of a £50m-plus switch from Brentford.

Newcastle have money to spend following Isak’s £130m sale to Liverpool and the club have been looking at late options available, as Mark Douglas at the iPaper reported earlier today.

One new link has arrived from abroad, as the Turkish media claim Newcastle are showing late interest in a deal for versatile Dutch defender Jayden Oosterwolde, who currently plays for Fenerbahce.

This comes from Aspor, who report that Newcastle have made a ‘last-ditch’ loan-to-buy offer for the 24-year-old, who is able to operate at left-back or centre-back.

However, it looks like our deadline day bid, if true, has been quickly rebuffed by the Super Lig giants, who are reluctant to lose such a key player.

The Turkish window does not close until next week, but Fenerbahce appear keen to keep a hold of the defender, especially with former Aston Villa man Diego Carlos on the verge of a move to Saudi Arabia.

Perhaps one to watch in windows to come if we’re looking to replace Lloyd Kelly, as the 6ft 2″ Dutchman will be entering the final 18 months of his contract in January.

  1. Alexander Isaak is an absolute disgrace. He shout have walked out of Newcastle a legend but he’s walking away a pirraiha. The way he has treated Eddie Howe is shocking. He made him the player he is. No morals no backbone and no respect. I have supported my beloved Newcastle for 40 years. Good riddance we will thrive without him
