Now I know a lot of you like your videos, so I’ve found this one for you to enjoy if you’d like to take a look at it.

It’s a highlight reel of some of the moments of last season, and I have to say that I really enjoyed watching it. I never knew it existed until I saw Dan the mole post it on Facebook which is when I grabbed it for here so the rest of you can enjoy it.

It’s a little bit of light relief to what has been a frantic day with regard to news regarding Newcastle United and allows us some time to reflect upon a few memories of last season.

So sit back, relax and enjoy near on five minutes of goals, goals, goals.

Take it away Adele!

    Funniest moment?
One humorous anecdote: The evening a new signing was told to meet his team-mates in the Diamond, the local pub of several stars in Northumberland for a quick pint. Except the taxi driver mistakenly took him to a “gentleman’s establishment” of a similar name in the city centre with, er, glamorous dancers! The mistake was quickly rectified.

    FJ from previous article
so what do you want? You want to give fergie the starting spot next year? The lad is only 19. In three years time he’ll be getting primed at 22 and whilst all the targets we have now will be getting into their later half of their 20s and who knows if they’ll stick around.
The point is though if you have the ability to improve your team you improve it. You want the best possible team.
If you don’t bring anyone in and fergie doesn’t cut it next year, you think the supporters are going to happy with the club saying ” it’s ok, it’s our youth policy” ?

  15. 15
    funkyjesus says:

I would like Ferguson to have a chance at first team. If we sign all these guys we’re linked to – he won’t.

Wayne Rooney was smashing teams at 16, same with Michael Owen – why can’t we take a chance with a near 20 year old? Aren’t people on here complaining when Nile Ranger doesn’t get a start? Why is Fergie any different?

I just fear we’re gonna end up spending £10 on a player who offers little more than Fergie would – who is already on our first team sheet and he will want to move to play more.

Ask Tim Krul. It seems the summer of players wanting out here.

  16. 16
    funkyjesus says:

    £10m I mean.

I’d be happy if we got Zog for a tenner.

  17. 17
    Newkie says:

FJ-the difference is owen and Rooney were there by pure ability-not a club “taking a chance on them” they were, if Fergie were as good as Nzogbia obviously it wouldn’t matter…but he isn’t and so therefore better players will be sought..

  18. 18
    JerseyGeordie says:

Rooney is one of the best players in England. His talent was obvious and so he won himself his start.
    Fergie is no Rooney.
You can’t just throw lads out there and risk losing points, you have to assess whether or not they’re good enough to start.
And at 19 he has plenty of time to improve and win his spot in the starting eleven. But if we pencil him in as the starter and he’s not ready, everyone would be calling for pardew’s heed and saying Ashley’s a cheap bastard and he should’ve bought a first teamer and not relied on a 20 year old.

  19. 19
    funkyjesus says:

Hasn’t Ferguson shown he is an effective player though? He isn’t exactly James Perch, he adds to the team, he isn’t a body to put on when everyone else is crippled.

I guess it’s just me then.

  20. 20
    AndrewT says:

Great vid toonsy! How’d u find it? Been searching for 15 minutes and got nothing

  21. 21
    AndrewT says:

Fj, I still wouldn’t call him starting material yet though. He’ll be a great sub to throw on though

  22. 22
    Newkie says:

aye effective, but he hasn’t shown he can score 10 goals a season in a struggling side as well as assist in about half of their club goal total

  23. 23
    Stuart79 says:

Good decision by the club to offer him a five year contract. The kid obviously has ability and its just about harnessing it.

  24. 24
    funkyjesus says:

Gervinho and Gamiero haven’t shown that in this division either. They could be pals for Xisco in the “not even in our reserve team” club.

Hell, even Ben Arfa hasn’t proved it yet outside of one singular goal but injury ruined that.

  25. 25
    JerseyGeordie says:

FJ effective in what sense? He’s shown potential but he’s not exactly commanding a starting spot. You have to have patience with the young lads. No one is saying that he’ll never be good enough, just that we need better right now because he’s not ready.

  26. 26
    funkyjesus says:

He isn’t commanding a starting spot? I am pretty sure the majority on here wanted him to start at the end of last season, lol.

I am not sure what people on here want from youngsters now. They want them to start and play more and now we want to sign people on name value alone and the youngsters will have to be loaned out to have a sniff at football.

What happens if/when these new guys flop and we’ve loaned Ferguson out so he can play? We could play Perch again, lol.

  27. 27
    JerseyGeordie says:

FJ your reaching now mate. Gervinho and Gameiro have proved themselves at a much higher level than fergie and even xsico for that matter.
They could still be flops in the epl but there is less risk with them.
Also if fergie proves not good enough yet and struggles, it could really him as a player as his confidence could take a major hit.

  28. 28
    Newkie says:

No funky, they’ve shown they have ability, and apparently more goal scoring prowess than our current strikers-I don’t get what you mean, should we be playing ferige up front now because he’s played a couple of prem games and they haven’t? I like fergie, but Nzogbia is the better player for now, that’s just the fact.

  29. 29
    JerseyGeordie says:

Everyone wanted him to start because there was no one else!
The younguns should get more run outs, but when they’re ready, but would risk getting relegated to just take a chance and give them the starting spot?
If we don’t bring anyone in and he struggled, would you be ok with that cause we gave him a chance? Or would you be screaming for zogs, gervinho, or Gameiro to try and save our season?

  30. 30
    Goose says:

N’zogbia has had time to develop his talents at Wigan and he is a better player than the one that left newcastle. Ferguson is going to develop as Pardew will give him plenty of opportunities next season, he may not be involved in a starting place for a big match but Pardew is going to make sure that the player develops.

  73. 73
    Big Dave says:

     when Toonsy

  74. 74
    funkyjesus says:

    Big Dave,

Villa have cleared out 10 players today to free up some wages and they are possible to lose Ashley Young and Stewart Downing this summer too. They will have a lot of money to spend and a major need to spend it so they may well strengthen if they build around the likes of Albrighton, Bannan and the youngsters.

Get Ireland off his major wages and get Barton in and it may boost their morale too and we get a player who would fit right in with the likes of Ben Arfa, etc.

  75. 75
    jay jay says:

I’m stalking you on twitter batty :)

  78. 78
    Goose says:

Yeah I’ve heard that being mentioned Toonsy, it really sounds like he is going to switch

  79. 79
    funkyjesus says:

Yeah, Shane Ferguson is another of the Northern Irish players who are switching to the Republic because the Republic have a superior team at the moment. Republic have stolen Aiden McGeady and James McCarthy from Scotland too, it’s their thing.

Northern Ireland have one or two Republic trained players in their team too, but they rarely mention that since Republic have a long term history of “adopting” players.

  82. 82
    AlanPardewProject says:

Would Ireland for Barton really clear that much for Villa??? Hmm. Having a hard time considering Ireland for Barton. Its like the brain chooses the obvious which is Ireland is younger and has same qualities if not a bit more swagger. However, my heart says keep Barton as he is one of me favs, has excellent passing skills and is an integral part of the team currently. Though decision.

  83. 83
    Goose says:

@funky, where have you found out bout Ireland switching with Barton? I would take Ireland, I know he’s had his injuries but when he played for us he played some really good stuff. I would love to see him in a Newcastle shirt but for swapping Barton, i’m not so sure?

  84. 84
    Newkie says:

yeah, not that simple. Family and religion can easily come into play. Personally I think they should play as a united ireland, like the rugby team do, Ulster players do fine with the rest…still, can’t have everything eh.

  85. 85
    Big Dave says:

I think Worthington has a lot to do with it as he seems to be fuking things up and fuking the players off at the same time.
But then the Republic have always been at that shit Jack Charlton would take you even if you had a greyhound with Irish blood

  86. 86
    funkyjesus says:

jay jay, you’re probably right but in football terms, the Republic try to offer any youngster who is eligible and has potential a game as soon as, so they can claim them. That’s why the Northern Irish team has about 16 year olds in it so they cannot swap now.

I am loitering in the BBC 606 page at the moment and the Villa page is talking as if Barton is their player already. I have seen no official news or anything, but when fans are talking like that, there is usually something in it. It may be something in the local news do there or something.

  87. 87
    toonsy says:

FJ – I’ve had no shit off the many Villa fans who just about scrape by down here so I dunno. I bet it will make The Mail in the morning though

  88. 88
    Goose says:

Interesting, but I can’t really see Barton going to villa can you? They might be trying to get a reaction from the newcastle fans.

I’m on twitter and have searched about Barton and lots of people are saying that they’ve signed for a club. Makes me question whether that is true or not. One person even said he was off to Liverpool but Joey is a born and bred Everton fan so I wouldn’t see him going there.

  89. 89
    funkyjesus says:

I am not sure if there is anything in it at all. Barton has said he won’t be sold but if there is a straight swap with no money involved, is it a sale?

Would he really turn down a move to Villa, who I see in the top half of the table next season to stay with us and then leave for nothing?

The problem is I can’t see Barton fitting in anywhere except Newcastle anymore. No fans will give him the time we have.

  90. 90
    Big Dave says:

FJ they wont give him time because he is our player, if he was their player they would learn to love him and get behind him in a very short space of time.
But I believe he will still be here ;-)

  91. 91
    Goose says:

Yeah I agree with you funky. Barton loves the appreciation that the fans have shown him up at Newcastle. His style of play suits us hands down.

The straight swap would be like Man City gaining Milner and giving Ireland to Villa. You could tell that Ireland didn’t want to be at Man City.

I think what will happen is that the issue will cool down and his situation will be resolved. Reminds me a lot of steven taylor’s situation when he refused a new contract.

  92. 92
    funkyjesus says:

I wonder if Stephen Ireland will have an entire career of his transfers being swap deals.

Like no one ever paying for Sol Campbell since he only moved in free transfers, lol.

  93. 93
    AlanPardewProject says:

i see villa going down the shitter. They are dissolving. Young will be off and they cant keep downing. Ireland doesnt want to be there. They have a poor defence. Will loose friedel. Would feel sorry for joey if he ended up there.

  94. 94
    toonsy says:

I hope so, goose. The thing is that now I think the deal is irrelevant as he has criticised his employers. Right or wrongly, quote or no quote, it will be a long way back from this I reckon :(

  95. 95
    Goose says:

toonsy, I agree and if Joey speaks his mind on twitter then I can see him not getting another offer at all. I think if he gets his head down and shows what he can do on the pitch then he might be rewarded.

  99. 99
    Newkie says:

Funnily enough I don’t get the impression Ashley is that bothered by Barton’s comments. To be fair he’s heard worse to his face on multiple occasions, and I know this came from an employee, but I think over the years Ashley would have developed pretty thick skin-I think he sees the players far more as assets than from a personal perspective. Same thing can’t be said for Owlheed though, think he’s the spiteful c*nt that’s messed this around.
