According to reports from the Guardian, Newcastle United could lose out on the services of Rafael Benitez to West Ham United following a poor summer transfer window.
Rafael Benitez’s frustrations at not being able to land his top targets throughout the summer transfer window was well documented but it was widely believed that the Magpies would be bringing in a host of new players to St. James’ Park on deadline day.
As it turned out though, Newcastle failed to sign a single new player before the conclusion of the summer transfer window despite being linked with the likes of Kenedy, Lucas Perez and Cenk Tosun among others and the lack of arrivals would surely have angered Benitez.
Now reports from the Guardian have stated that Benitez is already considering his future away from St. James’ Park and a switch to West Ham United to replace Slaven Bilic has been seen as a real possibility for the Spaniard.
Benitez is unlikely to be walking out on Newcastle but if West Ham make an approach for his services, the 57-year-old allegedly would be keen on considering the option of joining the Hammers – two years after rejecting them.
