According to reports in Turkey, Newcastle will reignite their interest in 26-year old Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun in January after a failed attempt to sign the 27-goal forward on deadline-day.
Following our failure to land a striker or left-back on a pretty dreadful deadline-day, The Chronicle have since confirmed our interest in Tosun, with fresh claims suggesting we we will go back in for the Turkish international in January.
Tosun scored 27 goals for the Turkish champions last term and has started this season in similar fashion, netting three goals in five games. He is currently keeping former Middlesbrough striker Alvaro Negredo out the team, but it has been suggested that a fee in the region of £17m could be enough for Besiktas to part with their star man.
Tottenham and Crystal Palace are also said to be admirers of Tosun, who scored this superb goal away to Porto in the Champions League last week:
