After we confirmed the signing of former Sunderland midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng, the Mackems have taken to social media to have their say – and they don’t sound bitter at all.
Ki – whose contract expired at Swansea this summer – spent a year on loan at the Stadium of Light during the 2013/14 season, bagging 4 goals, 3 assists and helping them to a 14th place finish in the Premier League.
I remember him often being one of their stand out players whenever I watched them back then, and I remember Sunderland fans raving about him soon after he signed – however their tune has well and truly changed now he’s arrived on Tyneside!

I can see why they’re frustrated in fairness. The only South Korean international they’d be able to attract these days is Lee-Gwon.

Bit of a cheap laugh, listing Sunderland tweeters – but, hey, if their mental health carers won’t tie their thumbs down, well, who are we to stop the giggles.
We should be careful how much we laugh at them, though, since they’ll get their own back at the end of this coming season, when Rafa leaves and NUFC go into free-fall.
