Aston Villa set to make £12m & £20m moves for TWO more NUFC ‘targets’ – Reports

According to various reports, Aston Villa are planning to beat Newcastle to TWO more signings – just a week after they sealed a £22m deal for Rafa Benitez target Wesley Moraes.

Firstly, the Sun’s Alan Nixon claims Aston Villa are preparing a £12m move for Bristol City star Adam Webster – the defender who was linked with a move to St James’ Park over the weekend.

The Mirror claimed over the weekend that we, along with Southampton, Watford and Burnley, were interested in signing Webster, but it now sounds like Villa have made their move.

It’s also been reported that they are hopeful of beating Newcastle to a deal £20m deal for for Club Brugge star Marvelous Nakamba – someone we’ve only just been credited with an interest in, but another player they are trying to sign ahead of us by all accounts.

The midfielder has drawn comparisons to N’Golo Kante and reports in Africa claiming we have been tracking the 25-year-old – although it looks like Aston Villa are in poll position to sign him after this summer’s AFCON.

So, if these rumours are to be believed, Villa are looking to sign another two NUFC ‘targets’, with them already sealing a £22m deal to sign Wesley – the Club Brugge star Rafa Benitez is believed to have been in contact with earlier this summer regarding a potential move to St James’ Park.

In fairness, another centre-back is the last of our worries right now and a £20m move for unproven midfielder Nakamba sounds risky, but there can be no denying that we are almost paralysed in the transfer market as thing stand, with it seeming like no incoming our outgoing deals will be sanctioned while Rafa’s future and a potential takeover remain up in the air.
