Game on! Fulham v Newcastle.

Newcastle tackle Fulham.
Its been a while, quite a while, and a fair bit hs gone on since our last game against Tottenham 11 days ago.

The football, thankfully, returns tonight as Newcastle head to the banks of the River Thames to take on Fulham. Craven Cottage is quite possibly the most picturesque Premier League ground around. It has character, charm, and a lovely view of the River Thames.

I was there, as was MarkToon, in our relegation season, which is why I managed to take in the splendour of the ground and it’s surrounding area. After all, the football was pretty dire. I recall that we lost 2-1 that day, and I think Amoebi scored the consolation goal with Fabricio Coloccini conceding a penalty. Anyway, I’ll stop reminiscing now as that is all in the past. What is important is the match tonight!

Three points would be brilliant, even a point would be decent, and I’m sure the team will be wanting to put the points on the board as soon as they can as they aim for safety as soon as possible. It will be tough though, very tough, as Fulham appear to be waking up and have been getting some decent results as of late.

If you want to read a bit more background on the fixture as well as ponder the team news and take in some fun stats then please feel free to read the NUFCblog.info match preview if you haven’t already done so.

The match will be live on Sky Sports this evening and will be broadcast in 3D, but for the majority of us who don’t have access to such luxury you could possibly pick a stream from MyP2P. I’m not promising anything though, so if you know of a decent stream then please feel free to post a link up in the comments section below.

Kick off is scheduled for 8pm UK time so you will need to adjust that depending on your location around the globe. Hopefully the game will be worth watching for all of us!

Team news is as follows….

Fulham: – Mark Schwarzer, John Pantsil, Chris Baird, Brade Hangeland, Aaron Hughes, Clint Dempsey, Danny Murphy, Steve Sidwell, Damien Duff, Moussa Dembele, Andy Johnson.

Subs: – David Stockdale, Carlos Salcido, Jonathan Greening, Simon Davies, Gael Kakuta, Zolton Gera, Diomansy Kamara.

Newcastle: – Steve Harper, Danny Simpson, Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini, Jose Enrique, Joey Barton, Danny Guthrie, Kevin Nolan, Jonas Gutierrez, Shola Ameobi, Leon Best.

Subs: – Tim Krul, James Perch, Sol Campbell, Shane Ferguson, Peter Lovenkrands, Nile Ranger, Michael Richardson

Howay the lads!

  1. Glad to see that young Fergie is included. He has impressed in hs other appearances.

Nice one for Richardson- I guess Vuckic is injured then?

Anyone know how LuaLua is doing at Brighton? Would think he would be a nice extra player to have with Raylor out and Rout gone.

  4. Dave – Is it working properly? I need as much feedback as possible.

Also, sometimes the site asked people to download a file. That was to do with the old mobile site, so it should stop now, but if it doesn’t I need to know what the message actually says 🙂

  6. Fulham are one of them sides who really grate on me, ***** negative side, no ambition, Just content to hover on the gravy train year on year like Leicester under O’Neill, Derby under auld bald heeded Jim ETC.

But they are strong at their place and im not holding out much hope… 🙁

  7. Good words from Pardew there.

“The player have been forgotten in all this and want to make their own statement”

  8. Looks like the “skipper supreme” (Martin Tyler ltd) Has done plenty of statements for them.

Who on earth allowed that ??

  9. AOD/Richie cheers 😉

I think young Richardson could light it up if given a chance-a direct charge of energy.

  12. Shola’s 300th game for the Toon? mark it with a goal big lad.

Lets hope Duff gets dogs abuse every time he touches the ball, yet another mercenary. Would love us to make a statement tonight like. Team spirit needs to be high and we need to show everyone that we were never a one man team.

  15. The traitor being unveiled at Anfield as our fans hold up a Judas Carroll banner.

Stuart-Apparently Pardew let slip today that the 35 million we recieved for Carroll would not only have to pay for players in the summer, but the money would also be used to pay for contracts aswell. Make of that what you will but George Caulkin branded it “unsurprising from NUFC”, others said “a 35 million warchest it is not”

  16. Surprise surprise that w@nker Duff immediatly looks up for it tonight. As if he’s got a point to prove, you showed a complete lack of care for god knows how long and then ran off, tw@t.

  17. Rich – Those naked portraits of myself came through in time to make one a wedding gift for you and your mrs. I have a 6ft x 4ft mural, 2 photos and a coffee coaster for you. I’ll bring them up when I come up for the Bolton game 🙂

Course it’s not a war chest, Ross. Why would anyone think it was? This is Mike Ashley we’re talking about. We’ll probably spend about £10m in the summer.

Although by rights we should have £50m at least, but don’t hold your breathe! Everything this guy touches, turns to *****(involving NUFC anyway).

  19. Stuart-I wasn’t expecting the whole 35 million to go back on the field mate, regardless of what Pardew may have said. What I didn’t expect however was for the money to have to pay for everything involving a player, not just a transfer fee, irrespective of how much was actually made available in the summer.

  20. Expect Enrique and Tiote to be next, no danger.

Who was it who said we weren’t a selling club? We’ve been nothing else since Ashley arrived.

  21. Typical to lose strolla – cue conspiracy theories.

Our support is great again, they can’t be heard. Why wud u wana play for that each week? Bit of composure and luck and we may do ok tonight
