Game on! Newcastle v Wolves.

Sing our hearts out for the lads!
Relax, and breath. Or try to anyway….

The game today carries an awful lot of significance with regard to the relegation race.

A win for the home side will restore a bit of a cushion between us and the relegation places whilst a loss will drag us right into the mire, which seemed improbable just a few weeks back but a run of only one win in ten games has seen the points cushion that we had built up start to get chipped away at.

In the interests of balance, and to add a bit of positivity to the article, if the results in these fixtures all happen to fall our way then we could end the weekend sitting in ninth place above Sunderland. Wouldn’t that be nice! Knowing Newcastle however, every result will go our way apart from our own…..

I have no doubt that the game will be a tense and nervy affair. Both sides are missing a few players and both sides need the points. The fans will play their part today of course, but the players need to show that they mean business and start off at a fast pace. I hope those who are able to attend the match today are in fine voice and get the result that will keep them singing.

For those who can’t make it, like me, an internet stream will have to suffice. A quick look at the MyP2P doesn’t fill me with too much hope of catching one to be honest, so if you guys can track one down then please feel free to share a link in the ‘comments’ section below.

For a more detailed look at injury news, potential team selections, form and fun facts you can take a look at my match preview by clicking on those handily underlined words.

That’s about it to be honest. Team news will be up as soon as I can get my hands on it, and all that is left for me to say is…..

Howay the lads!

  2. sounds good 😀 , hope we can keep this up in the 2nd half and not just sit back settling for a 2-0 😉

  3. Not quite Stuart. If we sent them down it would though 🙂

If it looks a possibility I might start a poster making competition and we can perhaps show them off to their fans? 🙂

  4. Can’t see Houllier hanging around either if they do. Not that the Villa fans would want him to!

  5. Toonsy, if we were safe by the time we play Wesbrom would you take a defeat if it meant Villa going down. I might just be contemplating that 🙄

  7. I’m coming round to the idea of Villa going down! If they did the player I’d want the most would be Albrighton. Massive talent. And take Delph off their hands too, not long ago he was hailed as the next big thing, be good for the development squad…

  12. This puts Sunderland in the bottom half, only six points from the drop and with City to play tomorrow!

  15. Told you Simpson would mess it up. He has been doing it the whole game, backing off Jarvis.

  16. toonsy – It gives them hope and we know what hoe can do. We´re lucky Fletcher just missed too or it would have been like the Alimo. This game isn´t over yet.
