Game on! Newcastle v Wolves.

Sing our hearts out for the lads!
Relax, and breath. Or try to anyway….

The game today carries an awful lot of significance with regard to the relegation race.

A win for the home side will restore a bit of a cushion between us and the relegation places whilst a loss will drag us right into the mire, which seemed improbable just a few weeks back but a run of only one win in ten games has seen the points cushion that we had built up start to get chipped away at.

In the interests of balance, and to add a bit of positivity to the article, if the results in these fixtures all happen to fall our way then we could end the weekend sitting in ninth place above Sunderland. Wouldn’t that be nice! Knowing Newcastle however, every result will go our way apart from our own…..

I have no doubt that the game will be a tense and nervy affair. Both sides are missing a few players and both sides need the points. The fans will play their part today of course, but the players need to show that they mean business and start off at a fast pace. I hope those who are able to attend the match today are in fine voice and get the result that will keep them singing.

For those who can’t make it, like me, an internet stream will have to suffice. A quick look at the MyP2P doesn’t fill me with too much hope of catching one to be honest, so if you guys can track one down then please feel free to share a link in the ‘comments’ section below.

For a more detailed look at injury news, potential team selections, form and fun facts you can take a look at my match preview by clicking on those handily underlined words.

That’s about it to be honest. Team news will be up as soon as I can get my hands on it, and all that is left for me to say is…..

Howay the lads!

  3. Chuffed with the result like. I’d have taken a 1-0 and even a draw at an extreme push but to win 4-1 against a rival, and deserve to win 4-1 against a rival, is a welcome boost indeed.

  4. After a long long day and the best part of a bottle of Johnny Walkers and a six pack of Heineken, I’m a happy chappy and might fall into bed. Thanks for putting up with me.

  8. Nolan 2nd top english striker – one behind Bent, not bad for a fat old midfielder, Hope he gets a couple more and ends up top 😆

  16. Big, big win. Have to eat my words because Shola was a class act throughout the game. Barton and Colo were quality. We should be safe now

By the way Perch when he came on was shocking, fair enough he cleared it off the line but apart from that he was awful – never want to see him play again for us.

  22. I know its not nice to pick one player out for stick but in Perch’s case he is woefull I even started to panic when he came on and I was confident before the game, I wish the FA had off banned him for longer for appealing the decision 😆

  23. Dave – Perch cleared the ball of the line. He done something productive. Must admit, I feared the worst when he got booked within three minutes like 😐
