Game On! Everton v Newcastle

Game On at Goodison!
Welcome one and all to the final ‘Game On’ article of the season – an article which will take in the visit to Goodison Park.

Amazingly both sides still have something to play for on the final day of the season, although Everton’s reason is more about pride than anything else.

The Toffees know that a win today will ensure they finish above Liverpool for only the second time since the Premier League began whilst Newcastle know that they have to win to be in with a shout of qualifying for the lucrative Champions League whilst hoping that either Tottenham or Arsenal (or both) will slip up in their games this afternoon.

It’s all shaping up to be a fascinating final day of the season. The destination of the Premier League title is still yet to be officially decided, there is still one relegation spot to be filled, and obviously we have a three-way battle for third place which is the one we’re involved. It’s all jolly good!

I don’t need to go into much more detail as myself and Statto have already done so. Once again Statto has provided us with one of his excellent “Stat-Attack” articles, plus you have my very own match preview to view should you decide to take a look at any injury news, team news or history of the fixture.

Unfortunately the TV powers that be have decide to screen the title showdown between the two Manchester clubs. A shame but you can kind of understand it. That means that we are relying on streams to see what goes on at Goodison so naturally if you happen to find a good one then by all means share it.

However, regular commenter Jill has been in touch and has an alternative if anyone fancies trying it. The game is being shown on Fox Soccer 2 Go which is a subscription service that usually costs $19.99 a month. However Jill has a code which allows a one month free trial, which you can then cancel right after the game. The code you need is XOOMFOX.

That neatly wraps things up and now it’s up to the lads to do their bit and try and claim a Champions League placing. Will they be successful? We’ll find out in a few hours!

  3. the only positive of today is That Marveaux has a done a good job for the moment. But Cisse Ba and Tiote are nowhere today. I persist that I don’t understand why we have switch to 4-4-2 since 4 games now

  6. hate to be negative after sucha good season…but williamson is so far away from being good enough for a top half prem team! no consistency….a liability!! our defence needs serious improvements!! we have not let in 51 goals this season….and that is with FIFTEEN clean sheets…effectively let in 51 between 23 games which is shocking!! anyway always room to improve thank god
