Are we being bullied?

......If you have the stomach for it.......
……If you have the stomach for it…….
Ater this weekends dismal offering from our players it seems the whole of football is on our case. Pundits, press, media and ex pro’s have wasted precious little time in sticking the boot in to just about every aspect of the club.
Now I’m no Mike Ashley fan as you know, but the bloke must be tearing his hair out at what he’s seeing right now.

He has intrusted his board to spend the clubs money and equip us with the personal to right the sinking ship that was Newcastle united last season. The problem is, it was always going to take a lot more than £50m to put us back on track due to the fact other teams are so far ahead already and have strengthened in the summer, we are in effect playing catch up. The board should be aware of this and should of made it clear to him that a massive clear out was in order and some real Premier League experienced players HAD to come in.

The fact that this hasn’t been pressed home to Mike is either negligence on their collective parts or they are towing the party line. Maybe Mike Ashley is dead set on this young one for the future policy we have. Still I can’t help feeling, if the collective board all made it clear it could send us down because of lack of on field experience ; you would think being an astute business man he’d pay heed to such advice.

Well we have what we have now, until january anyway, given this situation we must stick with the manager and players until the next window. There has been talk of dressing room problems with one or two players, isn’t there always? If true they must be dropped from the first team and kept away from them and put in the reserves to rot until they can be sold. We have the whole football world on our backs we don’t need to have our own players and fans turning on each other, not 6 games into the season.

The amount of vitriol from ex pro’s, pundits and the media is looking like bullying now and we must unite to fend them off in my opinion. Ofcourse there is an argument that says this is what happens when you ban various press outlets and have prefered media partners . Frankly there is no excuse for some of the over the top slating of the club this week end. Yes we have young unexperienced players who may or may not make the grade but to write them off in the way some have is well over the top.

Right now some aren’t up to it, I would agree but that is not their fault, that blunder lay at the door of our recruitment department, but even Mr Carr may have his hands tied, who knows. Let’s try a different tactic and get behind the team and manager, and let the bully boys do their worst. At least this time they can’t blame the fans when it goes to rats.

  1. Anyway, considering we put all our eggs in 1 basket and opted for a yesman manager who previously said no twice.

Which manager would you go for??

I know you struggled to name more than 1 player to spend 25 mil on but please try harder 😛 and consider the restrictions under Mike the new guy would have

  2. Picking another fight Troysta 🙂 BrisV says you are not like that in real life. Anyway, we are stuck with Steve because either him and Carr or him and Charnley are joined at the hip. If they sack Steve then one of the other Directors has to go because they hired him after he was sacked at his 4 previous jobs.

There are signs that he knows what he is doing and he is not an arrogant ***** (Pardew) or an idiot (Carver). His record is that if things start to go wrong then he cant fix it. Hopefully, that will change.

  3. yes it did sharpy.

Dec 2013.. Newcastle then lost 15 of their next 21 fixtures, losing eight of their final 10 Premier League games, to finish 10th. The run continued into this season, with Newcastle fans forced to wait seven matches for their first win of the campaign.

  4. You know that Ashley will not sell his Sports Direct billboard , er… football club, even if we get relegated? Even if he has made another monumental error in giving the reins to Charnley he will not sell. The club is self sustainable as a PL operation but if we get relegated we would immediately be promoted again and wouldn’t need to sell any of our players like last time. Why, you ask? Because Ashley’s personal wealth has just about quadrupled since the last time we went down, from about 1 billion to 4 billion.

I really hope we don’t get relegated and that Steve or his successor is a success. However, if people think that relegation means Ashley will sell they are delusional. If we are relegated the value of the club will go down and Ashley will not sell for less than what he paid now that he is not just mega-rich but f@cking mega-rich.

  5. And why did I bring that up? Because there are idiots out there thinking Ashley will sell if we get relegated. On Uncle Ed’s blog somebody says it about every day. FFS The Chronicle ran a poll yesterday asking if fans would like to win a cup if it meant we were relegated. Like it is an either/or proposition. Thankfully only 20% said win a cup, so the majority showed a bit of sense. I refused to vote because as I said it is not an either/or and just the morons at The Chronicle being morons.

  6. So Cabella has been told to pull his finger out,he played four games and dragged off in each game OM say they won’t be fooled into signing him if he carrys on in this vain,so who got the best deal then??

More minupulation of the facts 😯
You are worse than Psychs. 🙄
I will repeat. Pards never had us in the bottom 3 after 10 games without winning a match. That was the criteria for me suggesting SM sacking should be considered.
SM hasn’t even reached that stage, yet, so I’m hoping it doesn’t get to that stage and he pulls a win out the bag and we allow him the time to rectify things.

  8. Troysta: when did I manipulate any facts when talking to you? I might have mixed you up with your brother one time but that is an easy thing to do as you both go out of your way to be confrontational and write in a very similar style.

  9. Chatting to a friend last night we went over the season 21 years ago. The best of times to be a toon fan. 10 wins and 2 draws from the first 12 games! Plus two 5-0 wins in the euros and a 5-0 and 7-1 in the league cup. You tube any of the games and you’ll be amazed at the attacking ferocity.

  10. Typical conversation with Troy:

Troy: well who would you have as manager?

    Me: Favre

Troy: but Pardew was an average manager, and nobody could have done better with what he had.

    Me: who mentioned Pardew?

Troy: Tick, tock, tell me who would have done a better job than Pardew?

Me: who mentioned Pardew, but that John Carver is one ugly dude.

    Troy: Tick, tock, still waiting.

Me: How about Jurgen Klinsmann if we could lure him away from Southgern California.

Troy: Tick, tock. You haven’t answered my question.

    Me: I just did.

Troy: Tick tock, get on the reality train. Let’s judge all managers except Pardew after 10 games.

Me: Actually, Steve said to judge him after 10 games so you have a point there Troysta.

Troy: Tick, tock, just name me one manager…

there’s no doubt he’ll end up back at newcastle next season.

i wonder how the – in carr we trust – t shirt sales are doing these days.

they should be cut up and sold as dusters.

it’s nee wonder the club is constantly in trouble when you have clowns like charnley/carr & moncur sitting in the board room. a failed out of work bloke appointed as manager & a next to useless – brown noser – messing around with the reserves.

things can only get better 😉

  12. Pardews little run of form last season was on the back of injuries to a couple of our regulars… so who knows, maybe things will click once SM actually works out how to deal with the rabble he has inherited!

  13. If Haidara and Dummett are out, here’s a novel idea Steve – play the U21’s left back. I’ve heard Aarons name mentioned – don’t be silly!

  14. I think tonight is massive. We need to go out and hammer Wednesday to get some confidence throughout the side, at the moment the only one who seems to be playing with any is Janmaat, and he had a bad game where people wanted him dropped only a few weeks ago. Strong team, smash them, HWTL.

  15. every 1 knew we had a tough start ne1 expected to get 2 players sent off so i see no reason to panic just yet 😉

  16. I read that 4 or 5 players went to McClaren and said they wanted to play tonight. Did we really have any other option? The likes of Obertan, Williamson and even Gouffran will probably make the bench because there is no-one else. Probable team????

    Krul

    Janmaat MBemba Coloccini Aarons

    Sissoko Wijnaldum Anita Thauvin

    Perez de Jong

Many would say that is our strongest 11 anyway, bar Mitrovic. We have no cover though and that’s after spending 50 mil. What’s the point of stretching the spending over 3 windows if we are bottom at Christmas and nobody decent will come?

      (Quote)

  17. Hacked off that we are in a position that we may have to use Aarons at LB, total waste of his talents. The club know that we have a bunch of sicknotes and should of sorted out the situation. How they thought Taylor, Good, Marv, Tiote,Dummett would last the course beggers belief when every fan could see it coming.

  18. TAE: I would say this is already a bit of a crisis with Chelsea and Man City to come and only 4 fit defenders, one of whom (Lascelles) hasn’t played a minute of PL football. When would you suggest we panic, when we have 2 points after 8 games because that is what is looking most likely? Citeh were scary good in the first half against Sunderland.

  20. Kimtoon: I am trying not to get too pessimistic, but I doubt my mood will change until we get these next 2 league games out of the way. I thought we would have had a win by now just to ease the pressure a bit. A good performance tonight might cheer me up.

We have a little game between two teams from North London on over here. Arsenal and Spurs I think they are called. No TV of our game and I can’t even get Radio Newcastle because they block overseas broadcasts.

  21. Eric, I’m not ready to have a breakdown yet, I’ll give it a few more games, but reserve the right to scream and shout if we’re *****. 🙂

  22. Troysta: I think I am being very level headed and haven’t even gone on a rant about McClaren. Yet 🙂 I think I am just numb now. When you think who Ashley has hired to run the club you have to scratch your head: a City Lawyer, a Casino Manager, Joe Kinnear and the club fkin Secretary.

If you are going to the game, can you do a match report? I don’t trust the press to be unbiased where we are concerned. They are enjoying twisting the knife just a little too much at the moment as Kimtoon has said.

  23. Does this make any sense: we try to loan Williamson to Preston, he refuses to go and we start him tonight? No sign of Aarons, please not another injury.

  24. That said. Willo will probably do well tonight against a team 18th in The Championship. That’s his level, so MOTM.

  25. Does it make any sense that willo could be our main striker when it comes to winning headers, defending the box?? alongside Mbemba he probably is…

  26. Newcastle United (4-2-3-1): Tim Krul; Daryl Janmaat (c), Mike Williamson, Jamaal Lascelles, Chancel Mbemba; Vurnon Anita, Georginio Wijnaldum; Florian Thauvin, Moussa Sissoko, Gabriel Obertan; Siem de Jong

    Happy enough with that.

BUT I WOULD LOVE SM TO TRY 442 WITH PEREZ / TONEY. LJD/PEREZ

  31. What is it with this ***** 451 formation? It does not work. Oh and have I mentioned how much a spectacular failure our summer transfers were? Including clearing the dead wood… Meanwhile, hopefully those calling for Aarons to be a first team starter can now see that he’s also made of glass and not fit enough to perform week in, week out for 90 minutes.

  32. Thauvin brought in coz Cabella isn’t good enough 😕
Just read one journo saying that was one of the worse performances he’s seen.
