Are we being bullied?

......If you have the stomach for it.......
……If you have the stomach for it…….
Ater this weekends dismal offering from our players it seems the whole of football is on our case. Pundits, press, media and ex pro’s have wasted precious little time in sticking the boot in to just about every aspect of the club.
Now I’m no Mike Ashley fan as you know, but the bloke must be tearing his hair out at what he’s seeing right now.

He has intrusted his board to spend the clubs money and equip us with the personal to right the sinking ship that was Newcastle united last season. The problem is, it was always going to take a lot more than £50m to put us back on track due to the fact other teams are so far ahead already and have strengthened in the summer, we are in effect playing catch up. The board should be aware of this and should of made it clear to him that a massive clear out was in order and some real Premier League experienced players HAD to come in.

The fact that this hasn’t been pressed home to Mike is either negligence on their collective parts or they are towing the party line. Maybe Mike Ashley is dead set on this young one for the future policy we have. Still I can’t help feeling, if the collective board all made it clear it could send us down because of lack of on field experience ; you would think being an astute business man he’d pay heed to such advice.

Well we have what we have now, until january anyway, given this situation we must stick with the manager and players until the next window. There has been talk of dressing room problems with one or two players, isn’t there always? If true they must be dropped from the first team and kept away from them and put in the reserves to rot until they can be sold. We have the whole football world on our backs we don’t need to have our own players and fans turning on each other, not 6 games into the season.

The amount of vitriol from ex pro’s, pundits and the media is looking like bullying now and we must unite to fend them off in my opinion. Ofcourse there is an argument that says this is what happens when you ban various press outlets and have prefered media partners . Frankly there is no excuse for some of the over the top slating of the club this week end. Yes we have young unexperienced players who may or may not make the grade but to write them off in the way some have is well over the top.

Right now some aren’t up to it, I would agree but that is not their fault, that blunder lay at the door of our recruitment department, but even Mr Carr may have his hands tied, who knows. Let’s try a different tactic and get behind the team and manager, and let the bully boys do their worst. At least this time they can’t blame the fans when it goes to rats.

  1. It still comes back to our ridiculous transfer age policy imo, we also badly needed some PL experience and we didn’t get it.

  2. Perez just missed, even he’s losing his touch 🙁
Toney on for Gabby and commits a foul within 4 mins 🙄

  3. We can blame McClaren all we want for his crappy tactics and formations but he doesn’t tell them to mis place passes and give the ball away 8/10 times. It really is utter pathetic that pro footballers can’t even pass the ball!

  4. Ashley will be thinking, “I have spent £50m and we’re out of the cup and bottom of the league. I could have spent no money and achieved that! ”

  5. He’s literally got the derby now, that’s the only place he can turn it around. I actually feel worse now than under Carver, and I never imagined it could get worse than that ****.

  6. Sharpy – If I was Ashley I’d pay a fortune to get Klopp. He needs to do something radical imo to save the club. Klopp would guarantee a top half finish with good transfer window in Jan.

Won’t happen but that’s what I’d do. Or maybe Ancolotti? De Boer? Would need to be a real curve ball appointment but I feel McClaren will get a while because Ashley would effectively be sacking his MD too and to have no coach and MD would be a disaster.

  7. If Ashley does not want to be involved then the problem is Charnley, that man is totally clueless, have met him over the last two years on the Fans Forum, and honestly he is US. He in my opinion brings nothing to our football club. His appointment of McClaren sums his ability and thinking up.

A championship team at home was a good draw. We are just not very good!

  9. That’s got to be the only way, Kim. We need someone to come in and control the whole club – top to bottom.

  10. It’s got to be a larger than life character, and the finger points to KLOPP, but we stand no chance unless we have someone to do the negotiating on behalf of NUFC, because Charley would put me off been a pie seller at St James, there is absolutely nothing about the guy that would make me want to work for him regardless of the money.
Maybe it’s time to give Shearer/Lee a shot

  11. Stu – I would too, but what would you do if you were Klopp?.

Look I’m not saying Mc is the answer, but a lot of good players have said he’s a good coach – whilst that doesn’t look the case at the moment, I think the players have a lot to answer for. Pardew, Carver and now McClaren – what’s to say they would perform for Klopp?

      (Quote)

  12. There is the other angle. It’s unbelievably early to be talking about sacking the coach? Question Ashley has to ask is; When is the point of no return?

      (Quote)

  13. Well Klopp is a proven successful manager, Pardew, Carver and McClaren aren’t. In fact McClaren hasn’t succeeded in any of his last 4 gigs. Maybe all these players who says he is a good coach are still living in the past? Maybe he was just ahead of his time as he was an utter failure at Derby with the biggest budget and his three previous jobs were the same. Pardew didn’t really have anything to spend so harsh judgement on him and Carver…

      (Quote)

  14. Sharpy, those three might as well be one, they are minims of each other, you need a character that is bigger than the players, who will take them along for the ride, just as KK did and Sir Bobby. it’s that simple

      (Quote)

  15. McClaren has had nearly 3 months now, any one seen anything that gives hope ——– Answer ‘Not a thing’

      (Quote)

  16. Ash – I would say both Pardew & Mc are big enough characters. Look at what Pardew is doing with Palace now ffs.
We have a group of overpaid players who don’t give a ****.

    Lacking determination
    Lacking pride
    Lacking everything
This bunch of twats won’t survive in the championship do forget about an immediate return like last time.
Wa doomed for a long while to come.
    Well done Mr Ashley.

  18. As to the question ‘are we being bullied?’
    Not at all.
We are the laughing stock and truly deserve everything coming our way.
This isn’t a one off, its been building to this perfect storm for years.

  19. Sharpy – It’s up to the manager or coach to sort these over paid players who don’t give a **** out. Motivate them like other players get motivated.

  20. I listened to the game on the radio and just watched the “highlights” on the skysports website. It took us 67 minutes to even win a corner and we didn’t have a single shot on target… Against Sheffield Wednesday reserves. Truly pathetic. Can’t see this turning round. Last season we also had a start like this but then went on that long winning streak before christmas but I really can’t see that happening again. There’s no way this is going to be anything but a relegation fight for the rest of the season. Can’t see us getting anything off Chelsea or City either. Only players I still have any belief in are Janmaat and Perez and i’m still hopeful for Aarons and Mitro if they ever get on the pitch. Not enough.

      (Quote)

  21. Stu – motivation is one thing, but when Thauvin makes 9 passes and only 1 finds a team mate?!

You watch Mbemba, Colback, Perez, Mitrovic and they all look motivated – Mit perhaps too motivated at times. But there are players there who want it – but for me, players like Sissoko and Cisse, Colo at times just seem to be going through the motion.

      (Quote)

  22. I missed Janmaat off my motivated players. Aarons would fall into that category as well & I would happily have Sammy and Armstrong back in the squad right now.

      (Quote)

  23. I always said this club specifically needs players who know the club. Not only we dont sign English players but we dont even go for good british players or those from Celtic. This club should build the future around those players: Janmaat Colback Mitrovic Mbemba Wijnaldum Dummett Ayoze Aarons Ameobi Armstrong who are on loan, then add pieces:
Id like Lewis Dunk at CB.
We had Mehdi Abeid who earned a starting place in my opinion. We need to buy good players from the championship with the skill set to be quality PL players like for example Jordan Rhodes, Lewis Dunk and play OUR YOUNGSTERS. People who say we did not spend enough o build a good team say bollocks. We overpayed for 4 players. Thauvin was **** in Ligue 1 but might come good. Ive seen one good game of Wijnaldum, Im more hopeful over Mitrovic and Mbemba but at that price we did not go to the essential, and we still are weak at DM.

      (Quote)

  24. I completley believe that if Pardew stayed, he would of bring the best of this squad because found his formula when Abeid came in as DM in 433 and Sammy played Lw. Thats when Colback had his best games and Sissoko linked well with Ameobi who is a player who can hold it and break lines, he was just a bit wasted because of his defensive work for the LB but that worked against big teams.

  25. What a **** result. Unbelievable. No game on here so I didn’t get up to search for one. I expected a win anyway and thought whey, man, I’ll just login to the results and smile in the morning. More fool me.

Sheer bollocks! That’s ruined my day even more than Saturday’s result. What;s the lowest points total for a PL season? We might be pushing that if this keeps up.

      (Quote)

  26. Wow… 1st shot on target @86 mins

His formation is ****, the players are an embarrassment.

How can they waste 13 mil on a winger and not secure a forward or defender. We had a winger of similar capabilities, cabella, who’s likely to return..

  27. At this time, Id go for this lineup, the best one:

    —————————-Krul—————————-
    -Janmaat-Lascelles-Mbemba-Dummett-
    ————————-Coloccini————————
    —————Colback———Wijnaldum———-
    —–Ayoze———–Mitrovic———–Aarons—

  28. Shteve has been asking for a response off the players for 4 games running!!

They’re not listening. What a mess?..

  29. Or a 442:

    —————————–Krul—————————-
    -Janmaat-Lascelles-Mbemba-Dummett-
    –Wijnaldum-Coloccini-Colback-Aarons–
    ——————-Ayoze—Mitrovic——————-

  30. Lets just surrender and not even bother putting up a fight against Chelsea. McClaren’s worse than Carver and I didn’t even think that was possible. I give up with this **** team, total waste of space.

  31. the players need a fuken rocket up their arses!! they should be embarrassed of themselves… 😕

  32. weve been **** since tiote been injured that run started when we lost him or has no1 noticed that, but like a few of the wallys say tiotes **** 😳

  33. I am trying not to judge McClaren too quickly but it is difficult when you see his 2015 record. He even pretty much matched Carver when at Derby.

Why the 4-6-0 formation against a club’s second string that currently lie 18th in the Championship?

I really hope Thauvin comes good, but if not you cant say we weren’t warned. It is well known that he was included in L’Equip’s worst team of the year. That team was assembled based upon the match day ratings and I assume several different journalists saw different matches so it is probably a consensus that he was *****.

As I said earlier, it will take a lot to sack Steve as either Carr, Charnley or both would also have to fall on their sword(s). If we are bottom after 10 games I don’t know what he will say as he said judge him after 10. Maybe we wont be bottom and maybe he will conveniently forget what he said.

      (Quote)

  34. bit early to be calling for heads to roll… we have players that performed inconsistently for a number of years now and have played with seemingly very little direction. We never had a distinct game style other than to try our best to survive. To that, we have only added 4 players to a drab list and we can’t expect the team to gel quickly. Years of fucken bad habits need to be coached out the incumbent players and the new guys need to get to grips with the league.
Steve needs to start banging some heads and getting these guys pulling together as one… I seriously believe that some of the lads are playing for their own showcase reels and not for the team.
I guess it also doesn’t help that Steve is setting us formation wise, not to lose, over trying to attack so early in the season. He seems to have lost his nerve somewhat…

      (Quote)

  35. AMF: You should read the Chronicle comments if you want to see judgement. The majority would have him in the Tower of London never mind sacked. I wouldn’t have chosen McClaren but 6 and even 10 games is not enough. He must get at least until Christmas but he shouldn’t be digging holes for himself by setting artificial deadlines before he even knows the extent of the challenge before him.

      (Quote)

  36. Look, I understand the new players not settling in to the PL but, the former captain of Ajax, the current Dutch player of the year and a 14 mil winger should be able to handle a second division second team.

      (Quote)

  37. Just wonder how many will jump on board to consider sacking SM if we still haven’t won a game in 10 and are stuck at the bottom with a gap opening up.
    It will be interesting. 😉
