Newcastle United are currently considering a move for experienced Fulham defender Fernando Amorebieta, according to reports from HITC.
Newcastle United’s need to sign a new central defender this summer has been well documented and Grant Hanley has widely been reported as the main target for the Magpies.
With Blackburn not too keen on selling their captain though, Newcastle have been forced to look at transfer targets elsewhere and now according to reports emerging from HITC, it has been claimed that the Championship outfit are currently considering a move for Fulham defender Fernando Amorebieta.
Amorebieta did not enjoy the best of starts to life in England after joining Fulham back in 2013 but he did have a productive campaign last term, playing a part in helping Middlesbrough earn promotion while on loan at the Riverside and then returning in January to guide the Cottagers away from relegation.
However, Amorebieta is reportedly keen on moving away from Craven Cottage on a permanent deal this summer and HITC reveal that Newcastle are plotting a move to sign the former Venezuelan international.
