Newcastle United are interested in securing the services of Lazar Markovic, according to reports from Goal.
Newcastle United have been extremely active in the summer transfer window and heading into deadline day, the Magpies are expected to be making a few more signings.
Chelsea winger Christian Atsu is on the verge of signing on a season long loan deal and manager Rafael Benitez is currently in the hunt for one more attacking player.
Now in surprise reports from Goal, it has been revealed that Newcastle are currently considering a shock move for Liverpool attacker Lazar Markovic.
Markovic has proven to be a huge flop at Liverpool since his £20 million move from Benfica two seasons ago and following a couple of unsuccessful loan spells, the Reds are now believed to be ready to permanently dispense with the services of the Serbian.
Newcastle have emerged as a shock contender to sign Markovic and the report from Goal suggests that the Magpies will be able to get the deal done for a fee of around £16 million.
