  1. He might be a mate of Klopp but that means nowt to us and this Geordie team will take some beating. I don’t think they’re good enough for that now we’ve got our tails up.

  2. This will be a real tough game in fact harder than Tues game here’s hoping Rafa has another good game plan without bloody Colback,I really dis-like their manager he seems a real snot of a man

  3. Good article. This will be another stiff test. I hope Gayle is back. We need his goals. A win here will make it difficult for them to threaten us for the rest of the season as we would have an 11 point lead over them.

Aye mate 11 points would take some making up with the amount of games left, just looking at fixtures we could go up on the same day scum go down, wouldn’t that be real nice

  5. Play 4-4-2 again and go with Gayle & Murphy up front with Diame & Shelvey in the middle – Ritchie & Atsu wide again.

They may make some noise as the Home fans, but an early goal would shut them up – a second shortly after would really silence them.

Mind you, most of our away games you hear our 5k travelling fans over the Home fans anyway.

  6. I was looking on the SSN app earlier and it had on ‘what next for Jack Whilshire?’.

Well if Arsenal are selling him then the toon should sign him!!!.

We must be able to match the likes of Bmouth for a fee, but we could probably pay better wages.

  7. Ice, agree on Wagner mate, there’s something very unlikeable about the bloke, can’t take to him at all.

Bit injury prone mate for me mate,he wouldn’t stand the cold up here 😆

  10. The way people are talking about Huddersfield you’d think they’re bleeding Barcelona! We’ll avoid defeat on saturday – I’m confident of that.

I see the Leeds game has been moved to good Friday evening. What could possibly go wrong… I reckon we will be in a position at that game to get promoted with a win. Now that would be a great night!

Agreed. Even if it’s not mathematical by then; Ipswich, PNE, Cardiff and Barnsley are our last four games, all very winnable in my opinion, no disrespect to those sides. Saturday is going to be huge though, lose and they’re 5 points behind, win and it’s 11. It would need them to get 12 points (goal difference) from eleven games to catch us. That’s a huge ask and would take a dip from us and them going on a run like we did earlier in the season, when we got nine wins in a row.
For that reason, Saturday is actually the most important game of the season, not the Seagulls. Even a draw with Huddersfield and win at Reading would do nicely.

  12. I would add that these games suit us, our players (who like the big stage) and our manager who sets us up to contain and counter. Tuesday should have been a lot more comfortable if it weren’t for the soft penalty. We’d be very unlucky for that to happen again in consecutive games.

  13. Wilshire is a bit of a hard one. He has definite talent but is injury prone. I think it would depend on Arsenal’s asking price. Aye ice mate if we beat Huddersfield things are looking very positive indeed. I see Andy Carroll is a real hit with the Chinese. They must want an injury prone player to sit on the bench and soak up millions of pounds in wages… 😆

  14. pass on Wiltshire. Thinks hes better than he is.

If we beat Huddersfield, it’ll be very hard to be caught. It would take a huge drop in points and them to keep winning.

4 pts from our next 2 would be great. 6 and ill be doing backflips

I’m predicting 100 points at the end of the season

  15. Carroll to China 😯 lol where the **** do they get the money from? YaYa Toure was supposedly offered 430k a week to join. they already have some decent names over there.. all watched by an average 22.000 fans 😳

  16. There is an awful lot of talk from the Huddersfield side of things. If it isn’t the coach it’s the players. I think we are doing the right thing. Just keeping quiet. Lets see who is talking after the game.

We should go and get right in their faces, not let them settle and use our quality. Give them a good 0-3 whalloping and see how they like that!

  17. Stu, really want us to shut that lot up, like a bunch of yappy dogs. I actually think this would be a bigger win than Brighton. Need to win it to send out a message that it’s us and Brighton and the rest can all go **** themselves .

  18. Gobsmacked here, just seen worktickets blog come up on newsmow, thought him and that blog were long gone!

Think we will win tomorrow, score will be 1-3 with Murphy starting and Gayle coming on in 2nd half

  19. It’s good stuff, all this chest beating from the Huddersfield end. They talk as if we haven’t played in front of a big crowd before 😆
Really looking forward to the game and an early goal. Gayle to start or go with Murphy and bring him on when we’re 3-0 up.

  27. I hope Rafa plays Murphy from the start, the lad deserves his chance.
Also I liked Diame alongside Shelvey and Perez in the 10 spot.
Atsu again deserves to start on the left wing.
Agree with other comments, a win tonight will be massive.
    Howay the Lads.

  28. The fight back against Bristol and the win over Brighton should have raised everyone’s confidence for this match.
We really have nothing to fear if we keep the concentration and stop giving easy goals away.
If we can score first, then we will be ok.

  29. Don’t like this obsession at the moment with high pressing or gegenpressen. It’s highly overrated. It worked well at Dortmund but they also had some really high class players including Lewindowski which was most important in their success. Apparently Huddersfield are very fit and do chase and press a lot but basic good football generally wins games.
    Toon win tonight!

  30. Well if we beat Huddersfield today that’s us up in all reality. It’s that big a game imo.

  31. Don’t forget Hudders have a game in hand too so really need to beat them today. If they win today they are on 68 just 5 points behind with a game in hand. That would be too close for comfort imo and we cannot allow that to happen.

  32. I think if we can go unbeaten in the next 2 games (Huds and Reading away), then we will have achieved promotion by the end of March.
I see us beating Fulham at home & B’ham away.
If we win the next 2 games, then I see us achieving a century of points.

      (Quote)

  33. Sharpy – lovely optimism mate. But even if you’re right it might mean we’re just on 81 points.
We will be promoted no doubt about that, probably with 95-98 points.

  34. Sorry to go off topic on a match day, but I’m buying a new UHD TV and Sky want £200 and £50pm just for the basic package, no sport or movies.

I remember a discussion on here about set top boxes as an alternative. Any advice?

Looking forward to the match, even if I do have to stream it.

  35. Prem, you could be thinking about when Ice was telling us about his box which streams all the footie. I’m sure if he comes on he’ll fill you in on it all.

    Brighton losing too!

Aye but that’ll just give Hudders more hope. Need to win for us and Brighton, has to be us two up .

  37. Pressure Kim. Huddersfield have never really had much hope or expectation. All of a sudden if results stay the same they’ve got a chance…

  38. I’d like to see Murphy start tonight with Perez up front with him and Diame in midfield. Atsu and Ritchie on wings with Colback nowhere near. We can bring Gayle on for the last 25 mins or so when we are already 2 up. ?

      (Quote)

  39. If Brighton lose it’ll certainly buoy Huddersfield as they, the fans and their media seem to think its us and one of those two for auto prom

Off topic .. a Burnley pen for handball by a Burnley player .. after the ref had his stag night ?

And they refs in this league are bad

      (Quote)

  40. So Murphy starts with Diame in the no 10 slot, and Perez on the bench. Colback also starts ? and Anita is back in for Yedlin.

  43. Bloody Colback in again ffs, really like this Billing have to be careful he could run the m/f with Colback in for us.
PREM if your for a box look at entertainment box on the net also you can see them on utube, they run at about ninty quid fully loaded,so you get everything, make sure you get it fully loaded they up date it for you all the you just have to click on the up date box,you get all the new films even before they come out at the cinema at times, all the sport you need, even showbox is great for films which by the way you can download to your laptop if you want, you can get the boxes cheaper but your left to up date them your self and Ime not that clever lol

  44. Something worth thinking about; Huddersfield have won an awful lot of games by only one goal. But they do score in most games. We’ll need another. Let’s just hope we don’t just sit back and try to absorb their pressure. Although I think they’ll be vunerable on the break – especially with their high press.
