It’s become quite clear over the past year that Richard Keys has something against Rafa Benitez and Newcastle United, but his latest comments are without doubt his most incredible yet – for all the wrong reasons.
The ex-Sky presenter (who was sacked for being sexist) claims Rafa should ‘spend some of his own money’ to sign the players he wants if he really does love Newcastle.
This comes from his latest tweet (which sees him side with Rio Ferdinand in a bid to defend Mike Ashley), where he also criticises Rafa’s alleged lack of teamwork – saying he is the reason we’re in this mess and that he should fork out some cash to help buy players and/or buy the club itself!
On this basis, I wonder if Richard Keys has put any of HIS money in to help his beloved (and struggling) Coventry City? I doubt it. Does he pay the guests on Bein Sports or pay for a microphone if one breaks? Of course not.
He doesn’t get it – this we already know – but this rant is on another level and a desperate attempt for attention.
Maybe we shouldn’t have given him it and left this one alone, however I can’t help but feel that everyone needs to see him for what he really is – completed deluded, ill-informed and a bitter old man who clearly has it in for Rafa Benitez.
