A stunning clip has emerged of a 37-year-old Fabricio Coloccini pulling off an incredible piece of world class defending during his latest appearance for San Lorenzo.
Some may have expected the Argentinian to have retired by now given many felt he was past it when he left three years ago, but, if the clip below is anything to go by, there’s plenty of fight in the old dog yet!
As shown below, the ex-Mag miraculously stops a goal bound effort to deny Cerro Porteño what would’ve been a late winner in their Copa Libertadores clash on Wednesday night:
The former Newcastle United centre-back – who spent 8 season at St James’ Park – recently signed a new deal to keep him at San Lorenzo until he’s 39 – and you can see why!
He endured a difficult start to life back in Argentina after leaving Newcastle on a free three summers ago, struggling with injuries and failing to get into San Lorenzo side, but he’s now a big part of their plans and still going strong at the age of 37!
Great to see from one of the greatest centre-backs this club has ever seen in the 21st century.
