NUFC star spotted ‘on crutches’ as he boards team bus at St Mary’s – Steve Bruce ‘expects him to be OK’

Lee Ryder has confirmed that Martin Dubravka boarded the Newcastle United team bus on crutches as he left St Mary’s.

That said, the Chronicle reporter says it is a ‘precautionary’ measure according to Steve Bruce – who’s hopeful he’ll be OK.

This comes after a late challenge from Danny Ings left the Slovakian in a heap and holding his knee in our 0-1 win over Southampton today.

He looked in some pain, but managed to see out the rest of the game – despite wincing a number of times as he cleared his lines.

As Lee Ryder states, he’ll be assessed when the club touch base back on Tyneside, so we’ll have to hope it’s nothing serious, with the 6ft 3′ stopper undoubtedly our player of the season so far.

Fingers crossed, but for now let’s celebrate a big win which moves us EIGHT points clear of the drop zone after results elsewhere went in our favour today!
