Some more outlandish reports have emerged ahead of a potential takeover at Newcastle United – this time from Spain.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Arturo Vial would seriously consider a possible move to Tyneside should the prospective new owners appoint Max Allegri.
The Chilean star and current Barcelona midfielder played under Allegri at Juventus, and the out of work Italian has been described as one of the Saudis top managerial targets should they complete a buyout.
The report also states that he’s intrigued by our “very attractive growth plan“, being ‘unconvinced‘ by Manchester United’s current project in comparison.
Just like recent links to Dries Mertens and Antoine Griezmann (you have to laugh), this is another claim that must be taken with a pinch of salt – even if the Saudis will have big money and even bigger ambitions.
Vidal’s current deal at the Nou Camp is set to expire in just over 12 months time, so he’s expected to leave at a cut-pice fee this summer.
It’s exciting to hear, but it’s all fantasy talk while we still have Steve Bruce and Mike Ashley at the helm as things stand, not mega-rich Saudis and Max Allegri!
