We conducted a series of online polls last week, gaining thousands of votes from Newcastle fans on social media as we asked hypothetical questions surrounding a potential £300m Saudi-backed takeover at St James’ Park.
The first question looked at the central talking point if any potential takeover were to happen – which is what we should do about Steve Bruce.
The question posed, the poll options and final results are as follows:
1. If the Saudi takeover happens, what would you do with Steve Bruce?
A massive 61% of voters decided that they believe Bruce should be shown the door at the end of the current campaign, with another 21% thinking he should be fired as soon as Staveley & Co walk through the door.
Only 12% of fans feel he should be given the chance to lead our club into its next exciting chapter, which shows that despite surprising the fanbase and having a respectable first season in charge, the overwhelming majority of Toon supporters DO NOT feel as though he is the man to take us to the next level.
