Dubious ‘exclusive’ claims Saudis want Senegalese star, Real Betis playmaker & PSG forward

Some more outlandish transfer claims have emerged ahead of a potential Newcastle United takeover tonight.

The news – which must be taken with a pinch of salt – comes from France, with an ‘exclusive’ from Foot Mercato claiming that the Saudis have identified THREE ‘dream’ signings once their £300m arrival at St James’ Park.

The three names are Napoli’s star centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, Real Betis’ playmaker Nabil Fekir and PSG’s unsettled Uruguayan Edinson Cavani.

This adds to the list of big names being linked with exciting yet unlikely moves to Tyneside should a takeover go through, however I don’t think anyone will be getting too carried away yet.

With the deal not yet official and us having no idea who they’re planning to have as their long-term manager, it’s tough to know how top targets will have been identified.

That said, it’s worth stating that Roman Abramovich made his own signings at Chelsea following a big takeover – regardless of managerial uncertainty.
