New Eze claims arrive from QPR chief as ex-Mag hints at NUFC return – “I’d love to be back”

QPR director of football Les Ferdinand says he will give Eberechi Eze a “glowing report” of Newcastle United should we make a move for the 21-year-old star this summer.

Ferdinand also insists that he’ll not stand in Eze’s way should we match QPR’s asking price for the recently linked attacker, suggesting there’s a deal to be done if we want it.

Speaking on Newcastle Fans TV, here’s what the former NUFC striker had to say on our interest in the England U-21 star:

“If you pay enough money for him, you can get him!

“I’ll be giving him a glowing report in terms of what it’s like up there.

“It’s a great place to go and play football but as long as you lot match our asking price, you can have him, no problem!

“People have been asking me about him, even the club said lots of people are talking about him, and I said he’s probably in the top six players I’ve seen in terms of his ability to control and pass a ball.

“He’s got so much more to come.

“He will be a superstar if he keeps his head on and goes to the right place.”

With recent reports suggesting QPR have placed a £20m asking price on his head, it could b an absolute no-brainer to make a move – whether a takeover happens or not!

Sir Les then answered questions about a potential return to St James’ Park for himself, with many hoping he could be considered for a director of football role should an Amanda Staveley-led takeover be completed.

Here’s what he said in response, playing down talk of a summer move but insisting that he’d “love” to be back one day:

“I’ve got a job to finish here at QPR. When I went here, I said I wasn’t going to QPR to try and cut my teeth in the role,”

“I’ve gone here to do a job and the job’s not completed yet.

“I love Newcastle United. I had a great time there, but I want to finish what I’m doing at QPR before I look at doing anything else.

“At some stage, I’d love to be back involved in the club if the opportunity came about.

“But at this moment, like I say, I’m very much committed to what I’m doing at QPR.”
