Bruce hits nail on the head about Saudi takeover saga – & sends message to the Premier League

Steve Bruce believes the Saudi takeover saga is “becoming tedious”, saying those who are making the decisions need to “be quick about it”.

You can say that again Steve! The proposed Saudi buy-out has dragged on for 11 weeks now and every emotion possible has been felt by the Toon Army fanbase. From euphoria, to ecstasy and #cans to impatience, disillusion and just outright boredom while the Premier League have our hopes and dreams dangling on a thread.

Now Bruce, who has unfairly had to live with speculation surrounding his future for the last three months, has had enough.

When asked if he’d been given an update ahead of our crunch clash with Man City, the gaffer said:

“No – and to be perfectly honest I don’t want it.

“Because then I can’t answer questions on it.

“Like all of us, these decisions have to be made, it just seems to now becoming tedious.

“It’s the same thing, a Press conference every two days, (some saying) “it’s going to be this week” or “in 48 hours”.

“We need the people who are making the decisions to make it, and be quick about it.”

We were told by those in the media that the announcement was due in a matter of “days, not weeks” just over a week ago now, and the situation has still not progressed.

Every possible hurdle appears to have been ironed out so it begs the question – what is the Premier League waiting for?
